“Realm” explores the many meanings of the word itself. A realm can be physical, digital, imagined or deeply personal. It can be a kingdom, a dreamscape, a cultural space or a place where reality and imagination blur. For this exhibition, each artist was invited to interpret the concept of “Realm” and create new work inspired by their own perspective, resulting in a dynamic exhibition filled with bold ideas, unexpected materials and immersive storytelling. “Realm” highlights the depth and diversity of Tampa Bay’s creative community. The exhibition brings together emerging and established artists whose work reflects both personal narratives and larger cultural conversations.

Featured artists include Acute Perception, Artist Jones, Carrie Jadus, Cake Marques, Chad Jacobs, Cristi Lopez, Ethan Early, Gabriel Ramos, Jon Stine, Keifer Calkins, Mark Castle, Mikeybear McGrath, Nicholas Holman, Novafro, Rebekah Lazaridis, Rhys Meatyard, Saumitra Chandratreya, Sam Simon, Scott Wayne, Spencer Meyers, Andrea Pawlisz, Amy Ilic-Volpe and Wasil.

Mize — the curator of the exhibition — has played a major role in shaping the region’s contemporary art scene. In 2018, he opened MIZE Gallery in the historic uptown neighborhood and later launched “Space,” a larger curatorial initiative supporting artists across Tampa Bay. He currently curates exhibitions throughout the region at multiple venues. Previous exhibits curated by Mize at FloridaRAMA have been “Bliss,” “Maze,” and “Advent.”The exhibition also expands beyond visual art with “Voices in Realm,” a special literary discussion featuring regional writers exploring storytelling across creative disciplines. Scheduled for Saturday, May 16, the event invites guests to experience how written narratives shape artistic worlds and imaginative spaces. Featured writers include Eleanor Eichenbaum, Erin McCoy, Keifer Calkins, Tyler Gillespie and Yuki Jackson. Preview works in the exhibition include “Docking Station on Vesica Piscis” by Eric Doctors, “My Cactus Friend” by Calan Ree and “Spheres of Influence” by Katie Niewodowski, offering a glimpse into the range of styles and materials featured throughout the show.

FloridaRAMA Gallery is open Monday, Thursday and Friday, noon to 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For information, visit www.floridarama.art.
