Manatee County extends home recovery program deadline

By Tampa Bay Beacons

Homeowners recovering from hurricanes Debby, Helene or Milton still have time to apply for county aid.

Manatee County has extended the application window for the Lasting Manatee Home Recovery Program.

Previously scheduled to close June 30, the pre-application will now remain open until Aug. 31, and the full application will now remain open until Sept. 30.

“We strongly encourage eligible homeowners to apply now so that we can help them move forward in their recovery with the funds we have available,” said Ashley Schnitker, Grants Division manager.

The Home Recovery Program offers up to $250,000 for repairs and up to $450,000 for home replacement or elevation for applicants earning up to 120% of the area median income.

Lasting Manatee will also host applicant intake pop‑up events. The next will take place Thursday, July 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Myakka Community Center, 10060 Wauchula Road, Myakka City, to serve residents in East County. Staff will be available to help residents complete their applications, understand document requirements, and identify if they qualify for assistance under the Home Recovery Program.

Residents who cannot attend a pop-up event may apply at any time online at www.LastingManatee.org, by calling 941-742-4787, or by seeking in-person assistance at the Lasting Manatee Intake Center, located at 1012 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
